With the launch yesterday, I have had to neglect keeping track of all the good conversations going on around the atmosphere.
I will do what I can to ensure we return to the open source path. Open Source was one of my conditions when I joined the team. Now at the official launch, somebody got cold feet. Advocated for taking it private for security reasons. I find security by obscurity a pretty lame security strategy, but I guess you can understand the tension when release day comes. So I’d argue this was more out of low self confidence rather than growing corporate greed. Neither is desirable, tho.
