Ghost uses webmentions to power recommendations

Just reading about how Ghost has implemented recommendations using webmentions

Feels like something we could do pretty simply?

  • use Semble to make a Collection
  • select the collection in your Standard Site to be used for recommendations
  • export/sync the Collection as recommendations.json (so Leaflet / Pckt / Offprint can build that into their hosted appviews)

So I guess the need here is to settle on a lexicon for these recommendations? I sort of mixed in a flow that lets you use Semble to manage, obviously much like Margin integration this would be a mix of looking at Semble lexicon and this use case and do some integrations.

Great idea!

Added a feature request to Semble here Export Semble Collections as recommendations.json for cross-site recommendations · Issue #593 · cosmik-network/semble · GitHub

But of course it would require inter-app coordination
