David Cornelson here. I started designing an app (on the atproto network) to help people find others with common interests “nearby”. It’s called In the Fold or The Fold (domains and app ids TBD).

There are a few mock app designs.
I’ve already talked a bit on the ATProto Touchers discord. An important difference from other “meetup” ideas is that this is identified members first, find each other based on activities and interests, then decide to meet by creating a “Fold” and from there an event. Events can be regularly scheduled things or ephemeral one-off things, so they aren’t like any other group-first social app.
